What is STI And HIV?

STI Testing

It’s important to get tested as soon as possible if you’ve had unprotected sexual contact, you find out your partner has an STD/STI, or if you think you’ve been exposed to anything.
STIs are sexually transmitted infections, and they’re super common — especially among teens and young adults. You can have one and not even know it.
Getting tested is quick, easy, and usually painless.
You can get tested at clinics, Planned Parenthood, or with our partner HelpUsHelpU.
It’s better to know than not to know — and most STIs are easily treatable!
Getting tested doesn’t mean you did something wrong. It means you care about your health — and that’s awesome.

HIV is a highly effective
HIV prevention strategy
You can get HIV from unprotected sex, sharing needles, or from a parent at birth.
You can’t get it from hugging, sharing food, kissing, or using the same toilet.
There’s no cure yet, but with medicine, people with HIV can live long and healthy lives.
Think of HIV like a virus that makes it harder for your body to fight off other infections. But with the right help, people with HIV can still live totally normal lives.
